But doing someone else's self-care rituals, won't get you connected to yourself. In fact, it can push you farther away. So you start the self-sabotage train and soon enough you hardly recognize who you are.
And I am not just talking about physically; I mean that you feel your personality has changed so much it is reminiscent of Mufasa's brother, Scar...there's built up irritability & resentment, maybe even some jealousy, and your anxiety is through the roof it feels like you've got paranoia...the list can go on.
More or less, your energy is 'off'.
And because you're in this place where it feels like everything is the same-ol'-same-ol' and you can't get off the hamster wheel of hell (I mean, everything you touch turns to dust anyway, right?) so you just don't even bother to begin on ANY self-care routine. Why would you? Nothing is adding up right now, and there's too much to change, where would you even begin?
There IS a way to put a stick in the spoke without pausing your WHOLE life.
Or maybe you can stick to something for 2 weeks (ok, maaayyybe a month) but the darkness creeps in the next time you 'fall off' and takes over, eventually leaving you falling down Alice's rabbit hole and you find yourself beating yourself up over it all and saying "f*ck it, why bother?"
You CAN 'fall off' without leaving lacerations on your mind & heart.
